Isostatic press technology is to use the Pascal principle to place the pressed material sealed in the flexible mold or the solid workpiece with a closed shell in a high-pressure cylinder filled with fluid pressure medium, and use high-pressure equipment to apply a certain pressure to the pressure medium in the cylinder, and evenly transmit the pressure to the interface of the flexible mold or workpiece through the pressure medium, so that the pressed material or workpiece will undergo a certain volume deformation under the action of isostatic pressure, so as to achieve isostatic pressing. If the material to be pressed is a powdery substance, when the pressure is evenly applied to the surface of the flexible mold, the powder inside the jacket will be uniformly compressed and densed, and its shape will be smaller than and similar to the cavity of the flexible mold.
Isostatic press technology is usually divided into cold isostatic pressing according to the temperature of its forming and consolidation 、Warm isostatic pressure 、Hot isostatic pressing 。
Isostatic pressing is a technology that achieves isostatic pressing at room temperature, usually using rubber or plastic as the cover mold material and liquid or elastomer as the pressure medium. Cold isostatic pressing is mainly used for the forming and pressing of powdered materials, providing preformed billets for further sintering, calcination or hot isostatic pressing.
The simultaneous and equal transfer of pressure in all directions of the fluid medium is the basis of isostatic pressing technology, and the key to isostatic pressing technology is to establish a non-leaking interface between the pressed material and the pressure medium.
The dry bag method isostatic pressing is to semi-fix the elastic mold, not immersed in liquid medium, but sealed by upper and lower pistons. The pressure pump injects the liquid medium between the high-pressure cylinder and the pressurized rubber, and the pressure is transferred through the liquid and the pressurized rubber to form the blank under pressure. This method can be operated continuously, that is, the top cover of the mold is opened, loaded, and then the upper cover is pressurized and formed, and when discharging, the upper cover is opened, and the pressing billet is pushed out from the top through the top rod at the bottom. Short operating cycles and suitable for batch production.
